• Wipro licensed its Multimode Wireless LAN MAC (supporting IEEE 802.11a/b/g) in mid 2003
• Wipro also licensed its other 802.11 extensions including IEEE 802.11e, IEEE 802.11i and IEEE 802.11h

Customization Support
Wipro customizes its native Wireless LAN MAC to develop an Access Point:

• Capable of supporting air speed much higher than the standard value
• Compatible with legacy 802.11a/b/g third party Wireless cards
• Supporting WiFi Quality of Service protocol (WME)
• Supporting 802.11i Security protocol over multiple VLANs
• With DCF protocol enhanced with new proprietary modes to increase the goodput at the MAC-SAP level beyond the standard value

• Wipro licensed its Multimode Wireless LAN MAC end 2002, to be integrated by the customer into a wireless broadband gateway chip
• The customer went for fab in mid 2003. Wipro's Wireless LAN MAC core saw its first silicon success for TSMC 0.18um process
• Customer is in Maintenance contract with Wipro for last 2 years
• Wipro licensed its IEEE 802.11i/WPA solution in early 2004 for second silicon spin. Fab to happen in mid 2004
• Licensing to be done for QoS (IEEE 802.11e) and other IEEE 802.11 extensions
