WiLD 802.11 a b g mac
|
|
The licensable and silicon independent WiLD 802.11a/b/g MAC core including the
protocol software is an integral part of Wipro-NewLogic's Wireless LAN WiLD IP
product family. Combined with the modem cores of the WiLD family or with a
third party modem core, it allows customers to quickly develop a high
performance and cost effective multi standard Wireless LAN SoC.
The core allows customers to build an IEEE compliant multi standard 802.11
MAC IC or to integrate MAC functionality into a complex SoC for the next
generation wireless LAN market. The WiLD 802.11a/b/g MAC supports high data
rates of 54Mbit/s for current standards. It is prepared for the upcoming
802.11e standard (QoS) and the 802.11i standard (Security) and "future
proof".
Wipro-NewLogic's profound expertise in wireless communications resulted in the
highly optimized MAC core with special focus on low memory and MIPS
requirements while maintaining a small gate count. The MAC core interfaces
to the ARM standard AMBA bus.
